when I try to go to another web site a screen shot ad comes up from nowhere, Never the same ad but this is contusly happening, how do I stop this from happening.

If you are experiencing unwanted pop-up ads on your HP computer, here are a few steps you can take to resolve the issue.

Step 1: Check for Malware or Adware

  1. Run Windows Security Scan:
  • Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  • Go to Privacy & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection.
  • Click Quick Scan to check for malware.
  • Download and run Microsoft Defender Offline or reputable tools like Malwarebytes.
  • Remove any detected threats.
  1. Use Malware Removal Tools:


Step 2: Disable Pop-Ups and Ads in the Browser

  1. For Microsoft Edge:
  • Open Edge > Click the three-dot menu (top-right corner).
  • Go to Settings > Privacy, Search, and Services.
  • Under Security, turn on Block Pop-ups.
  • Go to Chrome > Settings > Privacy and Security > Site Settings.
  • Scroll down to Pop-ups and Redirects and block them.
  1. For Google Chrome:


Step 3: Uninstall Suspicious Apps or Extensions

  1. Check for Suspicious Programs:
  • Press Windows + R, type appwiz.cpl, and hit Enter.
  • Look for unknown or suspicious programs.
  • Right-click and Uninstall.
  • Go to your browser's extensions or add-ons section.
  • Disable any recent or unknown extensions.
  1. Disable Browser Extensions:


Step 4: Clear Cache and Cookies

  1. Open your browser settings.
  2. Go to Privacy & Security > Clear Browsing Data.
  3. Select Cached images and files and Cookies, then click Clear Data.


Step 5: Reset the Browser to Default

  1. Microsoft Edge:
  • Go to Settings > Reset settings > Restore settings to their default values.
  • Go to Settings > Advanced > Reset and Clean Up > Restore settings to original defaults.
