Hi @Archiex

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand the concern. When the camera light turns on but the Camera app shows a gray or blank screen, and Google Meet reports that the camera is being used by another application, it usually indicates that the camera is being blocked by software, a camera service issue, or a camera driver problem.

To help us provide the most appropriate HP guidance, could you please share a few details?

  1. What is the exact HP product model?
  2. Which operating system are you using (Windows 11, Windows 10, etc.)?
  3. Have you already tried restarting the computer?
  4. Does the same issue occur in other applications such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or the Windows Camera app?
  5. Have there been any recent Windows updates, driver updates, or security software changes before the issue started?
  6. If your notebook has a camera privacy key or camera shutter, have you checked whether it is enabled or partially blocking the camera?

I appreciate any troubleshooting you may have already completed. Once you share the model and operating system details, we can guide you through the most relevant troubleshooting steps to restore normal camera functionality and ensure the camera is available for Google Meet and other applications.

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,

Hawks_Eye
