Hi @daglvo,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding slowed down PC!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these simple troubleshooting steps:

Restart Your Laptop

  • A quick restart can clear temporary glitches and improve performance.

Check for High CPU & RAM Usage

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  2. Look under Processes → Check if any app is using too much CPU or RAM.
  3. If a program (like Chrome) is consuming high memory, right-click → End Task.

Clear Browser Cache & Disable Extensions

If using Chrome/Edge/Firefox:

  1. Open Settings → Go to Privacy & Security.
  2. Click Clear Browsing Data → Select Cached images and files.
  3. Disable unnecessary extensions:
    • Open Chrome → chrome://extensions/ → Turn off unused extensions.

Check Internet Speed & Connection

  • Run a speed test at Speedtest.net.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router if the connection is slow.
  • Try using Facebook on another device to see if the issue persists.

Update Graphics Drivers

  1. Press Win + X → Device Manager.
  2. Expand Display Adapters.
  3. Right-click your graphics driver (Intel or NVIDIA) → Update Driver → Search automatically.

Scan for Malware & Background Apps

  1. Open Windows Security (Win + S → search "Windows Security").
  2. Click Virus & Threat Protection → Quick Scan.
  3. Uninstall unwanted background programs:
    • Win + X → Apps & Features → Remove unnecessary apps.

Adjust Windows Performance Settings

  1. Right-click This PC → Properties.
  2. Click Advanced System Settings.
  3. Under Performance, click Settings.
  4. Select Adjust for best performance → Apply.

Update Windows

  1. Go to Settings → Windows Update.
  2. Check for and install any pending updates.

Let me know which step worked! 😊
