Hi @kaknipper2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

On HP Envy laptops and many other modern laptops, the function keys (F1 through F12) often serve dual purposes and share their physical keys with other functions. These dual functions are usually indicated by symbols or icons on the keys. To access the standard function keys (F1 through F12), you may need to use a key labeled "Fn" (Function) in combination with the desired function key.

Look for a key labeled "Fn" on your keyboard. It is often located near the bottom left corner, next to the Ctrl key. Once you locate the "Fn" key, press and hold it, and then press the desired function key with the corresponding symbol or icon.

For example, if you want to use F5, which is commonly associated with refreshing a page or reloading content, you would press and hold the "Fn" key and then press the key with the F5 symbol on it.

If you still can't find the function keys or are unsure, you may refer to your laptop's user manual or documentation, as it should provide information on the keyboard layout and how to access the function keys. Additionally, you can often find diagrams on the laptop's keyboard itself, with icons indicating the secondary functions of each key.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
