Hi am wondering if upgrade to Win 11 may quickly resolve problems with my aging notebook.
The touchpad does not work (slow death, tried reinstalling drivers, etc, doesn't work at all now. I assume still bad driver) and intermittent load dependent failure of keyboard to display several characters. Reboots do not fix. Do I do a hard reboot and download some new drivers or might a win 11 upgrade install drivers? (According to MS, machine will run Win 11).

Very hard to say. Since your machine is old, the problem would be worsen because no available drivers and your machine may NOT meet Windows 11 requirements. What is it ?
Regards.
