As usual, the latest Win 10 creators update gave me lots of features I'll never use, but is wasting alot of my time by messing up features I need and bombarding me with silly Cortana popup messages, even though I had tried turning Cortana off. This time, it gave my multiple issues (that I've noticed so far.)
1) Microsoft tells me HP Accelerometer is not compatible. I tried uninstalling, restarting and then installing SP78033 . Then I tried it with SP81142. Then with SP781920. Still getting same error message.
2) Also, since the update, HP Support Assistant tells me I must download HP Wireless Button Driver SP71829. But when I click on the download link, I get the message, "A newer version of this application is already installed on this computer. If you wish to install this version, please uninstall the newer version." I don't know what to do about this message.
3) I also don't want to share ANYTHING with any other device. Yet I keep getting the Microsoft message that I have to update my Share options. How to stop this message please?
4) Also, the creators update wiped out all my sign-in pictures. I guess I'll have to live without them. No point in reinstalling them if Microsoft is pushing us, obviously, away from any sort of personalization; and will just delete them again with the next update.
Thank you, all, for your help.

My product number is G6s71ua#aba.
I made no changes to hardware or software other than the creators update. After each creators update, my accelerometer stops working and each time needs a different HP download to fix it.
1. Thanks. This download worked, and the accelerometer issue now is resolved (until the next creators update.)
2. I think the problem with HP Support Assistant is now resolved, too, but I'll only know if the message doesn't pop up again within the next few days. Thanks.
3. I don't know why I need Visual Studio, but I can download it if necessary. However, which of the multiple downloads on the linked page should I choose (if any)?
4. I also don't want to share ANYTHING with any other device. Yet I keep getting the Microsoft message that I have to update my Share options. How to stop this message please?
Thank you, community, for any and all help.

Hi,
as @A4Apollo is out of the office today, I'm replying to you.
Fabulous analysis. Spectacular diagnosis of the issue by you. Kudos to you for that. 🙂
I'm glad to know that the issue fix fixed and hope it stays that way.
I suggest not to download the Visual Studio as everything seems to be sorted now.
Could you please share a screenshot of the Microsoft message that is asking you to update the share option? This will help us to understand it better. Secondly, please check if there is a settings option or a settings gear on it that can give us access to some options where we could try to disable this from coming up again.
Cheers! 🙂

I was waiting a couple of days to ensure the buggy MS messages don't return.
HP Accelerometer is working, Yay!
In a desperate attempt to clear any junk out of memory, I shut down, removed the battery and power cord, and then held down the power key for a minute. After logging in again, I no longer get the bad HP Support Assistant message.
To correct the problem where it was asking me to share, I clicked to allow sharing before clearing the memory, and then clicked to unallow sharing after clearing. I no longer am getting that annoying message. BTW , I couldn't save an image of this message because neither PrtScrn nor the snipping tool works on those "helpful" numbered messages from microsoft that are not part of any screen.
I manully reset my lock screen picture that the Creators Update had removed.
Thank you for your help with the accelerometer. Could HP perhaps notify users after each Creators Update of the proper version of accelerometer to download, so we don't have to go through this every time?
Thank you again.
Now I'm waiting with gnashed teeth for the next Creators Update! 😉

Guess what? This morning, I once again got that Microsoft message:
I get one of those little numbered microsoft messages on the bottom right when I log on. When I click on it, a message scrolls in from the right, reading, "Microsoft Account Problem: We need to fix your Microsoft Account (Most likely your password changed.) Select here to fix it in Shared experiences settings." I don't know how to take a screenshot of that, as Snipping Tool doesn't work on these. (Once you click on the anything on the desktop, these sorts of messages disappear.) So I click on the message, and it takes me to the Shared experiences Settings page, which is set to off. I turned it on, and then off again. Next time I log in, still have this annoying message.
Should this question be addressed toMicrosoft?

Hi! @Glookie, Welcome back to HP forums.
I understand you have issues logging into your account.
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
As you mentioned when you try to log on to your PC you are getting error Microsoft Account Problem: We need to fix your Microsoft Account.
Try the steps recommended below.
1] Log out and log in with your Local Account password or the Microsoft Account password again. Maybe it was a temporary glitch.
2] If you are not using a Microsoft Account to sign in, create one, use it and see.
3] You could disable Action Center notifications. But this is not a solution as such. You are just hiding the popup notification.
4] You could run Microsoft Account Troubleshooter and see if that works for you
5] Or you could Verify your identity on this PC. If you have enabled two-step verification in an email account, there is a high chance of getting such an error on a Windows 10 computer.
To verify your identity open Settings > Accounts. Under Your Info, you will see a Verify your identity on this PC link. Click on Verify and follow the on-screen instructions. You will have to enter either your Email ID or Phone number to receive a code. This email ID and phone number should be the same that you entered while creating the Outlook or Hotmail account.
