Recently, I installed windows 10 and started to use webcam; it does not work with an error message 0xA00F4244<NoCamerasAreAttached>
Earlier, I was using Windows 7 without the webcam problem. I didn't find any Webcam driver in the device manager.
I would appreciate the suggestion.
Thank you.

@Aziz2016 here's a few steps to resolve the issue, start with checking for the webcam kill switch (if available on your model) and ensure its turned on,
That said, If your webcam has stopped working after installing a new update, you should uninstall the update and roll back to the older version. You will have to open Device Manager > right-click on the device > select Properties > switch to Driver tab > click on Roll Back Driver button > select Yes on the next window. After that, you need to restart your PC to check whether it is working.
If that doesn't work or there were no updates before the issue occurred, you might need to uninstall the webcam driver.
To do this, open Device Manager > right-click on the device > select Properties > switch to Driver tab > click on Uninstall Device button.
Restart your computer and then open Device Manager again and click on Action > Scan for hardware changes. (this would automatically reinstall the best drivers for it)
Once done, I suggest you install all the latest pending Windows updates as below and check if it helps.
- Go to “settings” and click on “update and security”.
- Under tab “Windows update”, click on the icon “check for updates”.
- Then once you find the pending updates install it and check.

@Riddle_Decipher Thank you for your help and information.
I tried all the steps that you mentioned, but the issue didn't resolve. Still, I don't see the imaging devices category under the device manager. There appear only cameras (HP Webcam-50) when I go to Device Manager > View > Show Hidden Devices. I attempted to update Camera's driver, which after updating the message pops up that an updated driver is already installed.
I am trying to install the driver as the last resort. I followed the article link. Surprisingly, there are no drivers available for this device on the HP website. I wonder how to download the driver? Please see below the screen-shot.
Once again, I appreciate your assistance and look forward to receiving further guidance. Thank you.

@Aziz2016 If the device drivers aren't listed on the HP website, it could only mean that the device is obsolete (older than 5yrs), in which case, you may need the OS the device was shipped with, in your case it's Windows 8: click here to confirm your product specifications. If the new device drivers are available for windows 8, you could try installing the same on Windows 10, using compatibility mode:
Follow the below procedure to install a driver in compatibility mode.
Run the program in the compatibility mode.
If a program or driver written for an earlier version of Windows doesn't run properly in current Windows, then you could try using compatibility mode on the program to hopefully allow it to run properly.
I suggest you to run the program/game in the compatibility mode and check if it helps. Follow the below steps:
-
Right click on the program icon, click on Properties.
-
Click the Compatibility tab.
-
Check the Run this program in compatibility mode for box and select the Preferred Windows.
-
Click on Apply and click OK button.
Check if it helps.
If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.
