I get this message when trying to use that driver. I did what you said and renamed it and extracted it with 7zip but when I go to use it I can only select the folder through device manager. But when I use the folder I get the message in the screenshot. Also I just want to say I really appreciate all the help you are giving me

Try

 

(1) Start windows <device manager>

- locate <i2c hid device>

- right click <uninstall device> !

 

(2) Start windows explorer and open extracted directory containing the i2c driver files

- right click on file iaLPSS2_I2C_CNL.inf

- choose install

 

(3) Reboot

(4) Test again ...

(5) Please report your results

(1) Use Windows Explorer to search for file hidi2c.inf 

- Start at C:\

(2) Use Windows Explorer to search for file hidi2c.sys

- Start at C:\

(3) Please report your results

For my part, both files are found (there are different versions in different folders). 

 

My touchpad (12C HID Device) continues to show the following in Device Manager (I am using Windows 11):

 

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

The device returned an invalid HID descriptor.

 

I continue to get "The best drivers for your device are already installed" when I update, and I have tried all methods you recommended previously in this thread.
