Elitebook 840
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Large flat screen TV being used for 2nd monitor stopped being detected. HP Elitebook. i5, Win 10. Operated fine for several months.

 

Have checked the 60hz setting.

Its connected with multipin monitor cable.

Solution reached

Changed the cable.

I guess the cable went bad several days ago. Hadn't changed them, hadn't moved anything. We have dogs and cats, so maybe the cable got chewed by tiny, needle like kitten teeth under desk.

 

Moral of the story—

Check the cable earlier rather than later. Cables are simple and fast fixes.

I typically use cables over wireless when I can, tend to be more reliable—except not this time.
