The problem is with you AMD Radeon HD 6700M graphics card. I had exactly same problem on more than one notebooks with that same specs (not only HP).

Note that that problem only occurs after graphics card driver is installed trought Windows Update!

I could solve it once by installing another graphics driver... a Windows 8 driver, downloaded from AMDs website (the only Windows 10 driver available was provided by Microsoft trought Windows Update).

After installing that driver, Windows would start normaly... no long time black screen. But... there were some applications that would not work properly. I don't remember what, but I think simple applications like Adobe Reader and Photo Gallery just showed some weird error and would not open files.

Changing the driver fix the boot speed problem, but brought others. Anyway, since the driver was earlier than the provided on Windows Update, Windows 10 would end up redownloading the latest version automatically (trought Windows Update)... and the problem would come again.

I don't know if Microsoft or AMD released some new driver to fix that... but i don't believe so. Unless they do that, you will have to go back to your previsous OS... or just hang on a bit at Windows boot up if you want to keep it.

Yes. I've allready made all that steps. And downgraded to windows 7 and I'm not making upgrade now. HP have major fault on this since they didn't develop support drivers to windows 8 and 10 or even make an effort to...

Thanks.

I'm sorry to say... but that's the market law. :generic:

If all would be perfect, maybe youll never get a new computer. And even if your computer may last "as new" for long long time, youll end up needing to buy a new one.

Maybe you'll not buy an HP notebook because of this bad experience you had...and change, for example, to Toshiba.

But Toshiba users may change to HP because that same experience with their computers.

That's how things works...
