I have purchased HP Pavilion 15-n020AX NoteBook PC. The specification says it has AMD Quad-Core A4-5000 Microprocessor 1.5 GHz and AMD Radeon HD 8670M (1 GB DDR3 dedicated) Video Graphics. I installed Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64 bit OS and tried to install the AMD HD Graphics Driver from HP Driver Support Site:
The above Driver installs Catalyst Control Center but not the actual Radeon Graphics Card Drivers. Therefore, I am not able to use the Graphics Card and dedicated 1 GB DDR3 RAM at all. My device Manager shows an unrecognized "Video Controller" and Windows Basic Display Driver is managing my display with 256 MB Graphic Memory. Kindly let me know the solution.

Thanks Paul_Tikkanen. My Problem has been solved with your valuable input.
After installing the AMD Catalyst 14.1 Mobility Beta Driver v1.6 from http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/latest-catalyst-windows-beta.aspx, my HP Pavilion 15-n020AX NoteBook PC is showing 1.5 GB dedicated Video memory and both Graphics Cards AMD Radeon HD 8330 & HD 8600M (AMD Radeon HD 8670M).
The normal beta Driver (without Mobility) i.e. amd_catalyst_14.1_betav1.6.exe does not work which I erroenously installed and wasted my time.
Also, for the Ubuntu 13.10 64-bit, I downloaded the beta-driver from http://www2.ati.com/drivers/beta/amd-catalyst-14.1-betav1.3-linux-x86.x86_64.zip and followed the instruction http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Latest-LINUX-Beta-Driver.aspx which perfectly worked. Also, there is another helpful website http://www.thefanclub.co.za/how-to/ubuntu-amd-catalyst-install in case you are facing issues with your hardware.

Hi:
The 8670M is not going to run unless the graphics demand is such that it switches to it, so it is not going to show up in idle.
If the driver for the 8670M is not installed then that is a different matter, and if you need help with that, I can assist.
You will know if the driver is not installed because there will either be a standard vga controller listed, or the 8670M will have a ! mark next to it.

OK.
I think that you don't have the 8670M driver installed.
In the device manager, under the Display Adapters section, do you see two graphics adapters listed?
One should be the Radeon HD 8330, and if the driver is installed for the Radeon HD 8670M you should see that too.
If you do not see that, then the driver is not installed for the HD 8670M but instead you should see a Standard VGA Adapter.
Tell me what you see listed under the display adapters category and then we will proceed from there.
