Can anyone reach HP so they've already started doing normal BIOS??? I can't believe I can't change vram!!! Vega 3 took 2Gb RAM, I have 6 left, which is very little!!! I could at least sit with 7.5Gb RAM! But no, vega took them. In fact, it doesn't need them! Help solve this issue, please. Maybe it can be solved somehow.

Hi:

HP released this document a while back, which explains the memory shortage...

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06526774

This seems to only apply to models with AMD processors and chipsets.

Info on Microsoft PlayReady.

Hello! Thank you for the answer, but this information gave me nothing. I still don't understand why HP did that. VRAM is regulated by BIOS, but not Windows. Moreover, the situation is illogical. Vega 3 takes 2Gb with a discrete Radeon 530, while Vega 10 takes only 1Gb in the absence of a discrete graphics card, which can't be changed either. Excuse me, but it's a complete mess on the part of HP.  Even Lenovo vram can be changed in BIOS...

You're very welcome.

The answer I posted wasn't meant to fix anything.

It was meant to tell you why it is what it is.

I didn't answer the question to discuss the whys and why nots.

I don't work for or represent HP.

You can address your concerns to HP if you want, at the link below.

I never buy any PC's with AMD processors and chipsets.

I don't care what company makes them.

I'm sorry if I said something wrong. I don't understand English well and i use a translator. Thanks for the link. 🙂
It seems to me that will have to modify BIOS, it is unlikely hp will update BIOS. With Intel easier, agree. Intel's graphics are nothing, so it will never take more than 256Mb by default. Thank you for the information. 🙂
