Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-s0000 (76T51AV)

Hello, my newly purchased computer is HP Victus16. I'm having problems with the AMD onboard graphics card. My computer received a windows update and it created a problem with the amd video card drivers. My computer's display only works when connected to a different display via hdmi cable. When I update the AMD drivers, my computer's screen returns to normal. When I turn off the computer and turn it on again, I still have the same problem. Solution please.

Hi @MeyveliSoda ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're encountering a common issue with AMD graphics drivers after a Windows update. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:

Rollback Graphics Driver: If the issue started after a recent driver update, try rolling back to the previous version of the AMD graphics driver. To do this:

  • Right-click on the Start menu and select "Device Manager."
  • Expand the "Display adapters" category, right-click on your AMD graphics card, and select "Properties."
  • Go to the "Driver" tab and select "Roll Back Driver" if it's available. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Update Graphics Driver: If rolling back the driver doesn't solve the issue, try updating the graphics driver to the latest version. You can download the latest driver from the AMD website or through the HP support website specifically for your Victus16 model.

Uninstall and Reinstall Graphics Driver: Sometimes, a clean reinstall of the graphics driver can resolve conflicts. Here's how:

  • Uninstall the AMD graphics driver completely from your system. You can do this through "Device Manager" by right-clicking on your AMD graphics card and selecting "Uninstall device." Make sure to check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device" if it's available.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Install the latest AMD graphics driver downloaded from their website or HP's support site.

Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date. Sometimes, Microsoft releases patches or updates that address compatibility issues with hardware drivers.

Hardware Troubleshooting: If the issue persists after trying the software solutions, there might be a hardware problem with either your AMD graphics card or the display panel. HP PCs - Testing for hardware failures
