I've been dealing with this issue for the past 3 years at least, I've tried everything I can find to try, and I'm at my wits' end; I'm hoping someone out there can help.
My laptop has the AMD A10 Extreme Edition Radeon R8, 4C+8G apu, which has both an on-board graphics card and a discrete graphics card that are intended to function together via crossfire. When I got this computer it worked great for like 6 months-- I was using the Radeon software (Crimson at the time) without any problem. Then Crimson was updated and I got the dreaded "No AMD graphics driver is installed, or the AMD driver is not functioning properly." Since that time, the computer runs sluggishly, and anything graphically intense (e.g. games) slows to a crawl to the point of not really working.
Since that time, I have periodically tried to get it to work as Radeon has updated their software. I have tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers
Using the AMD cleanup utility, then downloading and installing the drivers from Radeon.
Turning off windows auto-updates and trying the above again
Updating the BIOS
I tried removing the Radeon software and having Windows auto-detect and download/update the drivers. In device manager I receive this message: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)."
I tried downloading the driver from HP for this product, and I received the same Code 43 message.
I had all but given up and thought that maybe it was a hardware problem, but recently when I removed the drivers using the AMD cleanup utility and restarted the computer, windows auto-downloaded a driver that was dated from 2015, and all of a sudden it worked. I could load up games and they worked. I should have left well enough alone, but I thought that crossfire might not work without the actual Radeon software enabling it, and so I downloaded that. Well, of course that put me back to square one again, and I haven't even been able to roll back to the auto-downloaded drivers that briefly worked (kind of).
Is there any way to get the Radeon software to work with this model? If not, is there any other way to get the discrete and integrated graphics to work together via crossfire without it?
Sorry for the long question. It has been a long, frustrating journey.

Thank you for your reply. I actually was able to solve the problem on my own (finally!). I happened upon a similar question for a different HP laptop with the same APU/GPU (HP Pavilion 17-g133cl). I looked up the software/driver download page for that model on the HP support page, and found an AMD graphics driver available from February 2017. I downloaded that, and it works great.
Thanks

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are facing issues with the graphics driver.
I recommend you perform a system reset on the computer and check if it helps.
Follow the steps in the below article to perform a reset.
