Troubleshooting black screen issues on HP Notebooks: Click here to view the instructions!

Spectre x360 15t GTX 1650
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just received my brand new Spectre x360 this week from HP, and the AMOLED display has been great at displaying every color/shade...except for the midtones. Whenever browns/grays are displayed on screen, a vertical bright band about an inch wide appears on the left side of the screen. I have tried calibrating the display with no luck.

From my experience, the equivalent of this would appear on an LCD display when damage has been inflicted on the product. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this something fixable that I'm just missing? Or should I return the product. I can post photos to demonstrate if needed.

Thanks,

I have a similar issue, my screen blacks and grays jump when adjusting the brightness, you can see a noticeable color change in the mid-tones. Also if HDR is enabled the screen turns extremely black, even with the brightness at maximum. How did you solve your issue?

Asmita,

I've responded the private message but haven't heard anything back yet. I was only by Tech Support told to call up Repairs and Returns since I only received my laptop a week ago, which I did at noon today--only to be hung up on after being on hold for nearly half an hour.

It sounds like this is a somewhat common problem with these displays. Whenever I do hear back from customer service I'm hoping that I and anyone else with this issue won't be forced to wait a month just to receive another laptop with the same apparent hardware problem.

Thanks,

I never received any response from Asmita, but I ended up calling up customer service, who after running some tests determined that it must be a hardware issue--long overdue, but they'll be calling back tomorrow to help set up a return
