HP 15-AY105NF
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have a question about action keys (fn + f1 or f2 etc...), I've read an article on the support (http://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c02035108) I was wondering if it's possible to disable action keys for only one combination but not for all like it is explained in the article.

It would help me a lot because the only combination I don't need is fn+f1 and I would like to get rid of it.

Thanks. Best regards.

Hello Seyf

It is not possible to remap an individual key in Windows by default. The bios function only enables and disables the fn key as a whole.  You would have to try a third party solution that HP does not support.

Although I have not tried it, you might look into a program like SharpKeys

Good luck.

Thank you for your fast reply.

I have tried sharpkeys it is not working for single F1 key but for FN+f1 (function key) can be remap into other keys.

I will try another program.

Im having a similar issue with a new HP desktop.

Tried sharp keys as well, same result.

Did you have any other luck with different solution? Was HP able to resolve or assist?  I'm feeling a BIOS fix is needed on there part as they keyboards are similarly proprietary in layout to their laptops.
