HP Envy x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So I have a Wacom Bamboo stylus that I have been using with my HP Envy x360 since I bought the laptop, but around half a year ago or so it started to skip lines and not register every other second. I'll be drawing a line and it will just stop midway, and then it won't register the pen until I either hit the screen with my finger or wait for a few seconds. Eventually the pen stopped working entirely, in which I contacted Wacom and got a replacement pen, yet I'm still having the skipping issue. The pen works fine on other systems (including another model of the same computer) so I know that the pen isn't the problem. I've tried updating my computer and drivers, doing the pen calibration (which made it worse by making the accuracy horrible), and resetting my computer. I recently also had to have my laptop sent in and hard reset due to the built in microphone not being recognized, yet I still am having the touchscreen issue. Is there anything else I can try to fix this issue?

Hi@Leaf21,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC? Did you purchase the Pen separately or did it come with your notebook?

Please share the product number and operating system you are running on your PC to assist you better.

If the pen does not write consistently while your fist or palm is touching the screen, make sure the pen tip is 5mm or farther from the point where your hand is contacting the screen.

Try few troubleshooting steps below and check if it helps.

Reinstall the original touchscreen device driver that came installed on your computer using the following steps:

1. In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.

2. Expand the Human Interface Devices heading.

3. The touchscreen device is labelled HID-compliant touch screen, or similar. Right-click the touchscreen device and select Uninstall.

4. Confirm the uninstallation.

5. Restart the computer to reinstall the touchscreen driver.

Also, update the BIOS and graphics driver on your PC and check if it helps.

You can try updating the drivers using the HP support assistant.
