Active pen g3 not working

I recently bought the rechargeable active pen g3 following reviewing it was suitable for my HP elitebook 830 g8 note book. The pen is fully charged and paired with notebook. When I press the button on the pen the drawing toolbar opens but when I go to use the pen nothing happens. It doesn't write, it doesn't click to open or close windows etc

Did you check COMPATIBLE before go out to buy a stylus ? Looks like the 830 g8 series does not support a stylus at all, I can't find information on the manual

This might have been the result a mis-read of the product / model name.

I did find (at least) one model of the "x360" type of the Elitebook 830 G8 that does support two pens.

The x360 model type is not the same computer as the Elitebook 830 G8
