Hello I have a HP Pavilion g4 notebook model 2072la.
The question is whether you can add a video card?
also if you can increase the ram?
and what would be the recommended cards?
regards

You have a notebook configured by the factory.
You can probably increase the installed memory, but adding a video card is a no-go.The video graphics in your notebook are provided by the installed AMD processor.
You can upgrade the processor to have better graphics if you are up to the task. See the following list of compatible processors.
Some G4 model notebooks were delivered with switchable graphics, but upgrading to switchable graphics is not something easily done, because the switchable graphics model has a special system board that yours does not have.

@SpaceDFenderwrote:Actually you can upgrade the graphics now. If you get a external express to pci-e graphics card dock. Sold by ebay, banggood, and newegg. It allows you to use desktop graphic cards with laptops.
And...it will cost more than the notebook is worth to do that.
Doable? Yes. Viable? Depends on the budget.
