We need to connect an "HP Compaq LA2006x Monitor" to a Lenovo laptop running Windows 11. We have learned that there are HDMI to DisplayPort cables that are UNI-Directional by purchasing a DisplayPort to HDMI cable which obviously did not work. Having a bit of difficulty finding one that goes from the laptop (HDMI) to the monitor (DisplayPort), so we tried a USB-C to DisplayPort cable. The laptop (settings >> system >> display >> multiple displays) says it does not detect an additional monitor. Then we thought about verifying that we have the latest driver for the monitor. That didn't help at all. Where do we go from here?

Hi,
Something like this should work from the description
The USB-C port on the notebook needs to support DP 1.2 Alt mode to be able to work with an external monitor. So, you would need to check the specifications of the laptop.
Hope it helps,
David

Actually, I believe the monitor has DVI-D input
So might be easier to use a HDMI > DVI-D cable
Example
Hope it helps,
