So here we are again. This came up after the laptop lost power and restarted. When it is powered on the touch screen is disabled but re-enables upon powering up. Now when it is powered up it is impossible to attach an external screen and mouse without closing the laptop therefore allowing the touch screen to be ignored. So we had to very quickly press F4 for different screen options. This comes up on the right side of the login screen. You have to touch the screen for the last option on the bottom which allows the video to be exclusive to the external monitor. But you have to have mad ninja skills to do it! It's almost like a game leaving to want through the laptop out the window. Once this is done though then you can proceed to the device manager and disable the driver for the touchscreen. The native monitor during that time is ignored and therefore the touchscreen psychotic freakout is gone. Now that we realize that it is a hardware issue, because even in BIOS it will not go away, we will be permanently shutting the touchscreen off through the registry. This product was very disappointing. Next purchase...not an HP.
