Could someone please read this post beyond the title?!

I made a post earlier, where after following some guides, my laptop's auto-dimming "feature" would return, even though at the time it felt like I had removed it.

The problem is my laptop's displays dim further when the screen has mostly dim colours, making it even more difficult to see what is on the screen. During this process it also boosts the saturation to "compensate" for the visiblity loss, which only makes things harder to see.

If anyone is providing a solution or a guide to troubleshoot this, could you please confirm that this is an intended feature recognised by HP, Intel and NVidia. There is no reason for this annoyance to exist other than the fact that it was intended as a feature in the first place.

Greetings!

Thanks for being a part of the HP Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, there's an issue with the computer's brightness.

Appreciate you trying the troubleshooting steps. To better assist you - Have you checked the "Night Mode" settings?

If the issue still persists, please try creating a new user account and check -

1) Tap the Windows icon.
2) Select Settings.
3) Tap Accounts.
4) Select Family & other users.
5) Tap "Add someone else to this PC."
6) Select "I don't have this person's sign-in information."
7) Select "Add a user without a Microsoft account."
8) Enter a username, type the account's password twice, enter a clue and select Next.
9) Tap the Windows icon.
10) Select the User icon at the upper left corner of the Start menu.
11) Select the new user. You'll then sign into your account with your password from step 8.

Let me know how that goes.

Night Mode is off. The laptop doesn't dim at night and brighten up during the day, the laptop dims (and the saturation is boosted) when the screen isn't almost filled with bright colours.

My problem is my laptop's displays dim further when the screen has mostly dim colours, making it even more difficult to see what is on the screen. During this process it also boosts the saturation to "compensate" for the visiblity loss, which only makes things harder to see.
