HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 13-ay0003nn
Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP Envy x360 13-ay0003nn with AMD Ryzen 4500u, and the auto rotation rarely works! I have tried every single driver, GPU and sensor driver, reinstalled Windows tried Windows 10 and 11. Nothing works consistently. UMDF Sensor driver 1.0.0.297 FROM 2019!! is the only one that works for more than 3 days, but then stops again. Upon checking on Sensor Explorer app provided by microsoft, the sensors can be seen by the system, but they stop working. And it is a driver issue! Just going to device manager and installing the same driver again, even without restart, fixes it, until it decides to act up again. Isn't it finally time, after all these years of complaining, for HP to finally fix the driver???

Hi@KristianIvanov

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing auto rotation issues with the HP ENVY X360 Laptop. I apologize for the Inconvenience.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Check Editing the registry, enabling the rotation options manually
  • Launch the AMD Clean Uninstall Utility. Reboot, download and install new drivers.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
