Pavilion 15-cd040wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My Hp Pavilion 15-cd040wm was touchscreen, and now has a white & black screen. Screen is not cracked but unvisible. My child had it, and of course kids. I'm looking to get it fixed by Hp the manufacturer, but they keep saying the 1 year warranty is out. So they don't fix products through payments only warranty?

Hi,

You can try contacting the nearest HP service center in your area

https://support.hp.com/us-en/service-center

You could also take to local Computer Repair shop, as it is quite an easy fix. Or you could perform the repair on your own.

The part number for the panel is 809612-016

Example:

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=809612-016&_sacat=0

On page 57 point 9 of the service manual, you can see the steps to remove the bezel, basically, the front and back are "clicked" into each other, so you can use a plastic tool (guitar pick, old credit card) to separate the bezel from the back.

On page 58 point 11 you can see the steps to replace the actual panel.

Hope it helps,

David
