my Backlit Keyboard is not working

I have tried using  the fn and f5 keys

I have tried to contact HP customer service and still nothing worked 

what's the next step, if those two are not working.

No, only f5, no need to use fn. BUT does the f5 key has a backlit symbol/icon ?

It NOT, your machine does not have backlit keyboard.
