Black mark on my screen

Hello 

I have turned my laptop on today so go on it and I am welcomed with a  black smear across the left half side of my screen. There is also coloured lines over the screen. 

I have has the laptop for about 6 years so is quite old but this laptop is a big part of my life so really need it to work.

Anyone know what to do?

Try connecting to external monitor/TV and see how the image looks.

You will need to replace the screen panel. Provide the exact model or product number and we can see what kind of screen you need and a guide if you want to replace by yourself
