Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I reinstalled windows on a HP Notebook - 17-by0038nr.  Windows update brought in and installed an updated BIOS, and ever since then I have had a nightmare with the graphics drivers.  I am not sure if its the bios update or another windows update, or what, but I keep getting a black screen after installing graphics drivers.  I have rolled back and tried different driver packages from HPs website, but they all result in a black screen.  I was wanting to flash the laptop back to an earlier BIOS version for troubleshooting but the website only lists the latest BIOS, I can't go back!  Is there any way for me to get an earlier version, or does anyone know what this graphics driver issue is?

I kept struggling with this and solved the issue.   I downloaded the latest driver from Intel's website.    This driver will not launch right after windows install because its not the right version so you have to navigate this problem as follows:

1: Install windows and allow it to update.  This will install a bad driver that will black out the screen.

2: reboot into safe mode and roll back or update the driver to microsoft basic display adapter.   (you might need to do this more than once depending on how windows update is feeling that day.

3:  continue windows update untill you hit version 20H2 (or later for future viewers).

4:  install the intel driver package.
