EliteBook 8560p
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have a HP Elitebook 8560p notebook computer, the problem is: suddenly black screen when I was using, press the power button after the notebook restarts, the notebook screen keep in black, nothing display. If I use a external screen from VGA interface can be worked, but could NOT install the AMD graphics card driver(SP64287), otherwise it will be blue screen after installation restart, I can only use Windows driver, not AMD discrete graphics.

When I was using external screen to reboot computer to DIY eGPU system, it will be like

Is it a hardware problem or software problem? How could solve it? Thanks a lot!

I feel that the graphics card has gone kaput.

A similar thing happend on my dekstop when its Nvidia GPU died. I could only get artifacts on the screen.

It looked a lot like the images that you have posted.

Thank you for your post and welcome to HP Forums.

I understand you are facing a concern with Graphics.

the issue seems to be from the Graphics card, HW issue.

Try refaxing the card once if its discrete and Update the BIOS Depending on the model. You can find the drivers here

Also if External Monitor is working fine and the notebook display panel is blank completely then it would be the display panel which might be faulty.

Thanks for your reply!

The BIOS was updated to the newest version already and I don't think it's problem of display panel, because it was working one time again after the issue happened, but just a few minutes, blank again.

Thanks again!
