HP Envy x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-fh0000 (77W46AV)

I have seen that it is a know issue for the screen to go black . I have tried everything that was suggested to try to get it working. If i hook a monitor to it I can see all of the dionositic stuff but still have black screen. I have heard there is no way to fix this . What options are there or do I just have a doorstop. Of course this happened after my warrenty ran out and I dont wan to pay for another one if its not going to even fix the issue

@Nagondragon, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Perform a BIOS Recovery

A corrupted BIOS can cause display issues. HP laptops have a built-in recovery feature to restore the BIOS.

Turn off your laptop.

Press and hold the Windows key and the B key simultaneously.

While holding these keys, press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds, then release the power button but continue holding the Windows and B keys.

If successful, the BIOS recovery screen should appear, allowing you to restore the BIOS to its default settings.

Check for Blink Codes

HP laptops use blink codes to indicate specific hardware issues. Observe the power button

Run HP Diagnostics

Power off the laptop.

Turn on the laptop and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.

Press the F2 key to run the System Diagnostics.

Follow the on-screen instructions to perform a full system diagnostic.

This can help identify if there's a hardware failure causing the black screen.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
