Hi,
I’m using an HP ZBook G9 connected to an HP Thunderbolt Dock 120W G2, with two Acer KA242Y monitors. I have a total of three screens (the laptop display plus the two external monitors).
I've been experiencing frequent flickering and black screens on the Acer monitors. What could be causing this issue?
Additionally, would upgrading my dock help resolve the problem? I've noticed that some of my colleagues are facing similar issues.
Thank you for your assistance!

Does your machine have a video card or only iGPU ? Do you also use the dock to charge your machine ? Do you also use the dock for other USB devices ? Looks like to dock does not have enough power to work on all of them.
Regards.

Huge discussion on random monitor flickering is also here: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/External-monitors-often-going-off-and...
It seems that universal solution was not found yet. It is recommended to open case at hp support, to let them know that they have a problem on their docking stations.
Particular solutions:
- use high quality shieded cables (some reported, that it helps)
- check firmware on docking station and also latest drivers
- change refresh rate on monitors from 59.xxHz to 60Hz or vice versa
- use different docking station (Lenovo for example)
