Recently blue dots have appeared on my display when it is trying to display dark colors (mostly black). I have kept my laptop safe from any kind of pressure or drops so the appearance of these dots is quite confusing. They are about a centimeter in circumference and vary in size and shape, though all 4 are in a line.
I was wondering what this may be caused by and if it is repairable or if it falls under my still active warranty.
I took a (bad) picture of the dots. My phone made them appear brighter than they seem in person and please excuse the dust on my screen!

Hi @Acuscit,
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community! I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I understand there are certain dots/pixels on the screen. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.
To provide you with an accurate solution. I'll need a few more details:
What is the product number of your product? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824
Have you attempted any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums?
When was the last time it worked without these issues? Have you attempted a system restore?
Does the pixel/dot appear only during the game or does it appear outside the game as well, while playing a video in fullscreen?
If it's only the game, which game is it? and is it compatible with your computer specifications?
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
Perform a Hard reset on the PC: A power reset (or hard restart) clears all information from the computer's memory without erasing any personal data. Performing a power reset might fix conditions such as Windows not responding, a blank display, software freezing, keyboard stops responding, or other external devices locking up.
Next thing, I would suggest here is to Boot the computer into the Bios and check if that dots/pixels appear on the screen:
1. Turn off your computer
2. Make sure you have connected the power cable
3. Turn on your notebook, as it is starting press the F10 button repeatedly
Once you are in the BIOS, if the dots appear on the screen, it is likely a hardware failure. The next two steps may resolve the issue. The first one is to do a hard reset. I have included the document 'Performing a Hard Reset or Forced Reset'. The next and final step is to perform a BIOS update. I have included the information here for you 'Updating the BIOS' as well as updating the graphics card drivers from our HP Support website, using this link.
Please try the steps mentioned on this link: Click here
Please reply with the details for further assistance.
Eager to help!
