Hi @UmarMahtab,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

It sounds like your HP Victus 15.6 Inch Gaming Laptop (15-Fb0000) is experiencing an issue where the brightness slider is visible and functional, but the display brightness does not change. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest graphics drivers installed for both the integrated AMD GPU and the NVIDIA RTX 3050. You can download the latest drivers from the AMD and NVIDIA websites.
  • AMD Drivers: AMD Driver Download
  • NVIDIA Drivers: NVIDIA Driver Download

Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers:

  • Check if there are any BIOS or chipset driver updates available for your laptop on the HP support website.
  • HP Support: HP Support

Check Power Settings:

  • Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
  • Click on Change plan settings for the active power plan.
  • Click on Change advanced power settings.
  • Expand the Display section and then Enable adaptive brightness. Make sure it is turned off.

Windows Display Settings:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
  • Ensure that Brightness and color settings are properly configured.
  • Check if Night light is turned off, as this can sometimes interfere with brightness settings.

Roll Back Display Driver:

  • Sometimes, the issue may be caused by a recent driver update. You can try rolling back the display driver to a previous version.
  • Open Device Manager (right-click on Start menu and select Device Manager).
  • Expand the Display adapters section.
  • Right-click on the display adapter (AMD or NVIDIA) and select Properties.
  • Go to the Driver tab and click on Roll Back Driver if the option is available.

Reinstall Display Drivers:

  • Uninstall the current display drivers and then reinstall them.
  • Open Device Manager, right-click on the display adapter, and select Uninstall device.
  • Check the box that says Delete the driver software for this device and then click Uninstall.
  • Restart your laptop and reinstall the drivers from the AMD and NVIDIA websites.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date. Sometimes, Microsoft releases updates that can fix hardware compatibility issues.
  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

Use HP Support Assistant:

  • HP Support Assistant can help you automatically detect and install the latest updates and drivers for your laptop.
  • Download and install HP Support Assistant from the HP website: HP Support Assistant.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, there might be a hardware problem with the display or the brightness control circuitry. In such a case, contacting HP phone support is recommended.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
