Hi @krishna145,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Automatic Brightness Reduction on HP Laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Adaptive Brightness:

  • Adaptive brightness adjusts your screen’s brightness based on ambient light detected by your device. You can disable this feature:
    • Open Settings.
    • Go to System > Display.
    • Look for Brightness and color, and check if there is an option for Change brightness automatically when lighting changes. Turn this off if available.
    • You might also find it under Power & sleep settings or within your graphics control panel.

Power Options and Battery Saver:

  • Check the power settings that might reduce brightness to save battery:
    • Right-click on the battery icon in the taskbar and select Power Options.
    • Click Change plan settings next to your selected power plan.
    • Choose Change advanced power settings.
    • Expand Display, then Enable adaptive brightness. Turn it off.

Graphics Driver Settings:

  • Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date as outdated drivers can cause display issues:
    • Use HP Support Assistant to update your drivers or visit the HP website to manually download the latest graphics drivers for your model.

Windows Updates:

  • Sometimes, updates can reset settings or introduce new features that affect brightness. Ensure your Windows is up to date and check for any display settings changes that might have occurred.

Check for Background Apps:

  • Some applications can adjust brightness settings automatically. Check running applications to see if any could be causing changes.

BIOS Update:

  • In some instances, updating the BIOS can resolve hardware-related issues. You can find BIOS updates on the HP support website for your model.

I hope this helps.
