Pavilion 15-cc665cl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP 15-cc665cl.

The brightness key has stopped working and I am in the darkest mode.  This seems may have happened with the recent Windows update since it was working just fine a few weeks ago (September 25, 2019)

I have used the HP support Assistant to ensure that I have all the current updates available.  I have also used Windows update to ensure I have the most current version of Windows.  I have open the graphics drivers and check for the latest driver and they are up-to-date.

I have also rebooted my computer with the brightness key of maximum and then again at minimum with no results.

Would anyone have a suggestion?

Thank you

@Richardon

Welcome to HP support community.

Have you attempted to enable the generic PnP monitor after the update was installed?

If you haven't, here's what you need to do:

1) Search for Device Manager in Start Menu
2) Expand the Monitors section
3) Right click on Generic PnP Monitor and
4) Click on Enable and you are good!

I hope that helps.

Thank you for getting back.

I have the Generic PnP Monitor enabled and made sure that the drivers were updated.

I have an external LG monitor, and it is enabled, and the drivers are up to date.

I updated the Intel UHD Graphics 620 Display Adapter.

I have disconnected the external LG monitor and rebooted with no luck.

If you have any other thoughts, it would be much appreciated.
