HP ENVY 13-ay1000 x360 Convertible PC (3T488AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I tried to open my laptop one day, and noticed that the screen was having some issues in opening and positioning correctly. Then all of the sudden, the left hinge just snapped popping out from underneath the screen! This if course is having major issues with the laptop working correctly and the screen always falling back when I try to use it. Upon searching online for the issue, I found that it is a known issue with some of the Envy notebooks and that many have complained about it. Considering that, of course, this happened after the warranty expired but because it's a known issue, I'd really rather not have to pay to have it fixed. What are my options at this point?

Hi @Spectreuser3,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that this is a Hardware issue. Since the unit might need repair, I would request you to contact HP Phone support who can schedule a repair as per the warranty and the issue can be fixed.

For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.

Please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.

Please mark this post as Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
