HP ENVY x360 13.3 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 13-bf0000 (552D6AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

Just bought the HP Spectre x360 13 inch laptop. Everything so far is working fine. Except for the inbuilt camera which auto zooms during video calls. It will zoom in so close to my face, and I do not want this to keep happening as it looks very unnatural.  I tried everywhere but could not find the setting to turn this feature off. I need to stop the auto zoom functionality. I have tried talking with Microsoft who were not helpful and kept passing me around to multiple people. Please help!

Kind Regards,

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting issues with the built-in camera, I am glad to assist you.

Update the Bios, chipset, and drivers using HP Support Assistant.

Download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: Click here

  • HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
  • Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  • Click Updates in the My notebook pane
  • Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  • Updates list in HP Support Center
  • Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  • Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  • Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also, ensure Windows is up to date.

  • Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Let me know how it goes.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Hi, I followed these steps but it did not resolve my issue. It seemed to have only updated my computer, but it did not do what I was looking for help with. The inbuilt camera is still zooming close to my face, and I do not want this to keep happening as it looks very unnatural.  What else can I do?

I have the same issue .. was there a solution for this?

I have this problem as well. Cannot locate any setting in Zoom which manages camera random auto zoom in/out. Any insight?

I have the same problem and have not been able to disable the auto zoom while on video calls, specifically in Teams.

How can I disable this feature?

Thanks

Hello there,

For anyone having that issue of having that automatic zoom-in on your face on any high-end HP laptop, it's part of the GlamCam feature that comes with the high-res webcam.

To turn it off, open the HP Command Center, go to GlamCam, and unselect the Auto Frame toggle.

Cheers!
