Hi,
Ever since the recent Windows 10 Spring Creators' update, I haven't been able to use the webcam which also means I'm unable to use Windows Hello (the face sign in feature). I have already attempted to follow the many steps recommended such as always updating Windows, uninstalling and then re-installing to the latest camera drivers and making sure that permissions for camera access are granted but none of them seem to work.
I definitely know that the camera still works as I am still able to access it in another operating system (Linux).
Are there any further solutions or is this something that needs to be reported to HP?
Regards,
Rowan

Hi
In Device Manager it may be hidden or mis-identified,
Mine is a HP WebCam from MS according to the drivers
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\ksthunk.sys
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\usbvideo.sys
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\WdmCompanionFilter.sys
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\UMDF\SecureUSBVideo.dll
If indoubt please ask.

Hi,
The camera components do show up in the Device Manager and are in the correct category too.
I already have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the camera. I have however found that disabling secure boot in the BIOS and clearing the keys have allowed me to use the camera again too. I found that when I reinstall the camera drivers now (along with the IR camera drivers), that they work now however after a day or so, they stop working again.
I am now not sure what a permanent solution would be as it's rather impractical to keep reinstalling drivers everytime nor would it be optimal from to keep secure boot off.
Regards,
Rowan
P.S. I have reinstalled Windows between the first post and this post (due to other reasons) however the issue seems to still be present when secure boot is enabled.
