MY SON IS USING MY LAPTOP FOR HIS VIRTUAL SCHOOLING USING GOOGLE CHROME, GOOGLE CLASSROOM, AND GOOGLE MEETS. I USE IT THROUGH MICROSOFT EDGE OR MY COLLEGE CLASSES. MY SCHOOL USES A SYSTEM CALLED BLACKBOARD. MY TEACHERS CAN SEE AND HEAR ME BUT HIS CAN NOT. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY THIS MIGHT BE?

Not really, though I would suggest if you have not already done so that you check with "Google Meets" Support.

You cannot possibly be the only one that has run into this issue.

One unlikely (though important) place to check in Windows:

Settings > Privacy

Under App Permissions (left column), check settings for

Microphone

Camera

Considerations

If your son is only using a "family" or "user" type account, that is, he does not have access to administrative level controls, then there are a bunch of things that may not work as expected.  Balancing plain user accounts so they still function is not something for which I can give you advice - I don't use "plain" user accounts on any of my systems.

You are likely using an account that is type "administrator" .

If you can do so, try using the Google tools to connect using your account.

If it works, then you know the issue is simply one of permissions, in which case you might be able to add control where necessary to the son's account.
