My camera is not working - and i am unable to download camera drivers

Unable to download is a different problem than the camera not working.  That being said, It is likely the driver is still on the PC.  Usually an unwanted update from windows replaces a working driver with a newer, nonworking one.

Bring up the device manager, look for your camera and see if you can roll back the driver or force windows to use the older driver.  Look for a red or yellow icon indicating a camera problem.

This shows how to force windows to pick an older driver, the example is for audio.

There are other things to try if the above does not work.  I assume you already tried diagnostics and the microsoft troubleshooter outlined below

Does the camera show up in the device manager? Bring up the Windows device manager and try rolling back the camera driver. Possibly a Windows update installed the wrong driver.

Did you try rolling back the camera driver?

It could be the camera driver or the USB driver if the camera is connected to the USB. Many internal cameras are connected to the USB.

In the pictures below you would select the camera driver and then look for 'rollback' If the word 'rollback' is grayed out then uninstall it.

If camera driver is the problem

If the problem is the wrong USB driver for the camera

If you cannot rollback the driver then try to find the best one or let windows try. One way is to just uninstall the camera and reboot as described in this official HP document..

If uninstalling or rolling back did not work then see if there is a windows restore point that has a date from when the camera last worked.

This video describes how to use a restore point. Alternately enter restore in the windows search bar.

Let me know what you find out.
