Hello Promethee
I've updated as many drivers as I can and managed to get the HP support assistant thanks to your link. It does not update anything related to Camera.
Just to summarize, I cant see the camera name or drivers in device manager. I had updated the drivers from device manager but still could not detect the cam. So I went ahead and deleted them from device manager thinking they would be easy to install, but now I cant see the camera name anywhere. But I know it was called HP Wide Vision.
I pretty much gave up although it's frustrating since this computer is not even 1.5 yrs old...
Below is the damning image I get when i try to access my front cam. (btw this laptop only has a front cam)

Sorry, once again given the difficulty with the language, length of the wire, I did not reread the subject!
and I leave it to @BeemerBiker to continue here
what can i say
If the webcam is not detected in the device manager, it could be physically disconnected..
In many devices, there is no possibility to easily reinstall the driver, sometimes there is none, it is detected by windows
The solutions that I have already consulted are for old models, and do not always provide a solution!
If a factory recovery is too tedious, and/or doesn't fix the problem, my silliest but simple advice would be a separate webcam, usb for example, and there are much more efficient ones than the original one.
it's up to you, it's a backup option, rather than ending up disassembling the laptop, for perhaps worse, only better in the end!

@BeemerBiker wrote:I downloaded and looked at that file and I am sorry, it is not a driver, it is a firmware update to the camera. Probably does not apply to your model.
Have you run the HP support assistant? Possibly it can fine the correct driver

the following are drivers for the HP True Vision camera. Not sure if it is the you have but it is not a firmware updates like that other I posted
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp64501-65000/sp64853.exe
I apologize for the camera problem. I do not have an HP OMEN laptop. That sp64853 driver is dated 2013 and is too old. If I had looked at what it had inside I would have spotted the 2013 and known it was a problem.
You have OMEN 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC 15-ek1000 (2B1J9AV) and there are NO webcam drivers listed under software drivers for windows 10 or 11 that I could find. Perhaps our expert @Paul_Tikkanen might be able to locate a newer webcam driver. I suspect your best bet is to use the cloud restore that was listed earlier but you will need a flash drive maybe 32gb
I did find Webcam for OMEN by HP 15-ce000 Laptop PC series and the drivers are dated 2017.
Possibly it may work.

Unaccountably, the HP support assistant is missing from the Microsoft Store. Perhaps it is in their store in Europe.
The recommended site for USA is https://support.hp.com/au-en/help/hp-support-assistant
If you have a popup blocker there may be a problem downloading. Sometimes firefox does a better job than edge or chrome

Thank you for trying again 🙂
I know the value of time and I appreciate all your attempts.
I got myself a flashdrive and attempted a full restore, even that did not restore the camera drivers or cam detection. In this case it must be hardware damage for some reason if i'm not mistaken ? The laptop just doesn't see it at all and it remains missing from device manager.
Tried to download the drivers from the link you sent me but the download does not start, presumably because it detects that I have newer windows OS ? I did find some realtek drivers and installed them (they were dated 2018). After installing them the camera cannot be detected and then following that, the website doesnt offer them anymore. It is frustrating how drivers disappear from the HP website after you obtain them, it interacts with your login session and removes something that you installed. Maybe that's better, who knows.
Well I might just buy a cam at the end... I believe there has been some hardware damage for a weird unknown reason.. maybe overheating? maybe another reason?
Thank you for trying so hard, I welcome any thoughts of course but you've done enough for me already

As I mentioned, if the webcam is not detected in the device manager, it is not available, in 99% of cases, you can try all the drivers you find that are not there. won't change anything
A driver, can only install what is available, detected, functional..
If the computer is factory reinstalled, the webcam must be too, if not, not normal!
at one time, when I was in the French hp community, when we had this problem in most cases, the webcam was disconnected, by opening and closing the screen
Unfortunately this may not be the case!
sometimes it was just a button issue (from what I remember), which locks the webcam
I would not recommend taking the risk of opening to check
Try everything mentioned here, but I think it probably won't change
"We can't find your camera" error is displayed in Camera app in Windows 10
