I just got this brand new laptop as I researched and thought this was like the best of the best.

However, the camera image quality is total junk. (Trying to be nice here.)

I have the same lighting as when I had my other laptop and I honestly need to know if I need to return this one because it is defective or if I just have to accept crap quality video/camera images. Which I shouldn't at the price I paid!

The quality is extremely grainy and FYI...my shirt is BLACK but it looks GREEN! Please help? Is there a work around or something else I can do? Thank you in advance.

@LoriCohn Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are facing issues with webcam quality.

Please check the Webcam settings

  1. Open YouCam, then click the settings  icon.

  2. In the settings menu, click the webcam  icon.

  3. From the Capture Device drop-down menu, select your webcam

  4. Settings menu

  5. Adjust the Resolution and click OK

You may review the information shared in "Determine the resolution of the webcam" and "Webcam image quality problems" from this HP document.

Also, the Cyberlink Youcam software can be downloaded and installed via this link.
