Microsoft Windows 11

The built-in camera on my laptop (HP Spectre x360) has ceased to work. It now shows blackness in all photo/video apps. No error message is displayed. I have updated the drivers, and re-installed the camera.

 

Some HP laptops seem to have a lens cover, which has to be slid to one side? Mine doesn't have that, as far as I can tell.

 

The lens may have broken in some way, but I've never noticed what it normally looks like, and now I'm unsure which bit is the lens and whether it's changed in appearance, indicating damage? See picture below. This is the centre of the top edge of the laptop screen. Is that the lens, and is it meant to look like that?
