I have read many posts on my webcam not working, disappearing from Device Manager and that grey camera icons always on my screen.
HP ENVY x360 - 15-bp143cl
I have:
- Rebooted
- Updated windows
- Updated Bios
- Searced Bios for camera being off (never found a setting in bios for that)
- Ensured there is no privacy setting turned off
- Ensured all apps have access to any camera (no apps can find the camera though)
- Searched for new hardware in Device Manager
- Verifed there is no camera in Device Manger "Imaging" section.
- Tried to toggle the kill camera function key (the one next to the f12 key) but the light never turns on.
Oddly enough, suddenly I have no sound either.
All this has happened in the last 24 hours and I am not aware of any updates other than the Bios update I just did per HP troubleshooting recommendations.
Desperate,
Jack

These problems started (at least some of them) in the last 24 hours. I have been working with MS Support and we did lots of troubleshooting. Finally did a RESTORE to 2 days ago.
Same Problems:
- No webcam
- Webcam icon constantly on main display, taking up lots of real estate
- One USB port not working
- No sound (but sound does come from a bluetooth device
