Hi @DH126,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your built-in camera on your HP Pavilion Notebook 17-g200cy isn't working and you suspect it might be related to the BIOS, here's a general approach you can take:
Check Device Manager:
- Press Win + X and select "Device Manager."
- Look under "Imaging Devices" or "Cameras" to see if your camera is listed.
- If it’s there but has a warning icon, try right-clicking on it and selecting "Update Driver."
Update BIOS:
- Visit the HP Support website.
- Enter your laptop’s model number (17-g200cy) and look for BIOS updates under the "Software and Drivers" section.
- Download and install the latest BIOS update, following the provided instructions carefully.
Reinstall Camera Drivers:
- In Device Manager, right-click the camera and select "Uninstall device."
- Restart your laptop to allow Windows to automatically reinstall the camera drivers.
Check Privacy Settings:
- Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
- Ensure that access to the camera is allowed for apps.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Power off your laptop.
- Disconnect the power adapter and any peripherals.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to reset hardware components.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
