OMEN by HP 15-dc0009nc
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

None of my applications are able to detect my webcamera. I tried to run troubleshooters, update drivers and operating systems. The error code given by Windows' Camera app is 0xA00F4244.

Does anyone know how to solve the issue?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I understand that your HP notebook webcam is not working correctly. To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
  • When was the last time it worked fine?
  • Have you checked the Camera entry is getting recognized under device manager?

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi @Echo_Lake

Thank you for the reply. To give you more details.

  • Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue? No change for settings, but my keyboard got changed. The issue showed up after that.
  • When was the last time it worked fine? It worked fine before the 19th of November.
  • Have you checked the Camera entry is getting recognized under device manager? I went through all the general solution listed on the internet, and under device management I can't find the camera itself. Also tried to scan for hardware changes but no luck so far.

Let's try Microsoft system restore:
System Restore returns your computer to the files and settings from the restore point. Your personnel files and documents are not affected.

  1. Save any open files and close all open programs.
  2. In Windows, search for restore, and then open Create a restore point from the results list.
  3. System Properties opens with the System Protection tab selected.
  4. On the System Protection tab, click System Restore.
    The System Restore window opens.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Click the Restore Point that you want to use, then click Next.
    The confirmation window opens.
  7. Click Finish to restore your computer to a previous point.
  8. Do not interrupt System Restore when it starts. This can corrupt your hard drive and create more problems. Click Yes in the warning that appears.
  9. System Restore returns the computer configuration to a previous point in time and restarts.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi!

I already did the system restore before posted here. It did not help.

Thank you for posting back.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.
The last thing I can suggest trying to restore a computer back to the factory default, which will isolate whether it’s a software or hardware issue.

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
