Elitebook x360 1030 G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

All of the sudden the camera on my Elitebook x360 1030 G2 stopped working - the normal one and the IR as well. The 'camera' application gives me the the code 0xA00F4271(0x800706BE). The camera doesn't work with Hello either. Restoring the system to the couple of days old restore point helped (there were two critical windows updates after the restore point was made), but just for "one hibernation" and now the error is back.

Thanks for your help.

I solved the problem by reinstalling the camera driver, I hope it will stay that way in next Windows updates. The steps:

  1. Download the HP Universal Camera Driver from HP's Software & Driver Downloads.
  2. HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads
  3. Press Win-S, type Device Manager, run it, open Imaging devices, right click HP IR Camera, choose Uninstall device, check the option Delete the driver, press Uninstall.
  4. Before restarting Windows, run the downloaded sp79651.exe as an Administrator (right click on it).
  5. Restart Windows.

After that, the camera works fine again.

Good morning, camera does not work - again ...

Together with this goes also the error in System Event Log: "Windows Camera Frame Server service terminated unexpectedly".
