Good morning, I have a Specter x360 15-df1040nr and just found out my camera is not working anymore. Unsure what exactly could have caused it. Audio also does not work with some apps.

Hi @dicksonn,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your camera and audio are not functioning on your HP Spectre x360. There are a few troubleshooting steps you can try. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you resolve these issues:

1. Check Camera Hardware and Privacy Settings:

Privacy Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
  • Ensure that Allow apps to access your camera is turned On.

Device Manager:

  • Open Device Manager.
  • Under Imaging devices, check for your camera.
  • Right-click the camera, select Enable device (if applicable), or Update driver to ensure the driver is up-to-date.

HP Support Assistant:

  • Use HP Support Assistant to check for updates or to troubleshoot HP hardware.

2. Troubleshooting Audio Issues:

Audio Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.

  • Under Find and fix other problems, select Playing Audio and run the troubleshooter.

Device Manager:

  • Under Sound, video and game controllers, find your audio device.
  • Right-click it and try updating, disabling, and then enabling the device to reset it.

App-Specific Settings:

  • Ensure that your app permissions allow access to the microphone.
  • Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and check the app settings.

HP Support Assistant:

  • Use HP Support Assistant to diagnose and fix sound issues.

3. Check for Windows Updates:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates.
  • Install any available updates.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
