Installed youcam and I get a very poor quality picture with my internal camera on the 13 HP Envy laptop. I assume that the
camera is of poor resolution. When using Skype the quality of picture is almost unacceptable.

Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.
For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:
- Did you try to update the bios and check?
- Are you facing this issue after an update?
For now, let's try the below steps:
- Please perform all the relevant steps from this link: http://hp.care/2wfme5p and check if the situation improves.
- Also, try the relevant steps from this link: http://hp.care/2wfagbY although it is for a desktop, it is relevant to your current computer and OS also.
- Otherwise please uninstall the Webcam drivers from device manager by using the steps from the same link and delete the software for the device.
- Then update the bios, chipset and Webcam drivers using HP support assistant or from here http://hp.care/2syreDe and follow the on-screen instructions
- If this does not work.
- Please go to device manager.
- Uninstall the Webcam software from imaging devices.
- Then select the option delete the software for this device.
Keep me posted, how it goes!

Bios is updated. HP envy13t is only 2 months old. I went with NCH camera software and resolution is much better. Thanks for all the information. Being a retired HP employee your resources at this forum are extremely important and timely. Will let others know about this helpful information.
