My HP ENVY 360, cmaera quality has suddenly degraded alot, it is having some kind of white shutter effects and the quality is completely blurred. Originally the camera quality was very clear and HD, but now it's like a 10 yrs old laptop.

Hi @sana1729,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP ENVY x360 14's camera is experiencing issues, which could be due to several factors. Here are a few steps you can take to try to resolve the problem:
1. Check Camera Settings:
- Open the Camera app on your laptop.
- Click on the Settings (gear icon) in the Camera app.
- Ensure that the camera settings are optimized, and check if any filters or settings that could be affecting the image quality are turned on.
2. Update Camera Driver:
- Go to Device Manager (right-click the Start button and select Device Manager).
- Expand Imaging Devices and locate your camera.
- Right-click on it and select Update Driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software to let Windows look for newer versions.
- If there’s no update, you can visit the HP website and manually download the latest driver for your model.
3. Reinstall Camera Driver:
- In Device Manager, right-click the camera under Imaging Devices and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.
4. Check for Software Conflicts:
- Sometimes third-party software can interfere with the camera’s performance. If you've installed any new apps or updates recently, try uninstalling them temporarily to see if it affects the camera.
5. Run the Hardware Troubleshooter:
- Open Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Run the Camera troubleshooter to see if Windows detects any issues with the camera.
6. Test in Different Apps:
- Try using the camera in other applications (like Zoom, Skype, or Microsoft Teams) to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem is with the camera itself or specific to one app.
7. Reset or Restore:
- If the issue persists and nothing seems to improve the quality, consider performing a system restore to a point before the issue started, or a reset of your laptop to its factory settings (ensure you've backed up your files before this step).
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
