HP ENVY x360 Convertible 13-ar0xxx

Hi, my camera screen appears grey and is unable to be used with any webcam apps (including windows camera app, zoom, teams, etc). My OS is Windows 11 22H2 and the camera is an in-built camera, HP Wide Vision HD camera.

The kill switch on the side of the computer has been switched off and the camera is recognised by the system (i.e. visible in device manager and the system will stop recognising it when I toggle the kill switch). It says my camera driver is up to date (Version 10.0.22621.608) and I have downloaded the latest BIOS (F.28 Rev.A) from the HP drivers website, although notably HP does not have any Windows 11 drivers so this was from the Windows 10 section. I could not find any Windows 11 drivers anywhere else online. I am not 100% sure but I believe I have used the camera previously after updating to Windows 11 at the end of 2022. Not sure if this will help but after pressing the capture button on this grey screen, error 0xA00F4292<PhotoCaptureStartTimeout> appears (see pictures below)

Some of the interventions I have tried are listed below:

  • Restart computer
  • Turn Privary/Kill switch for webcam on and off
  • Update BIOS as mentioned above
  • Uninstall and reinstall camera driver (altought version states it is from 2006? is this the latest available)
  • Install latest drivers including optional drivers via windows updates

Please help.

Cheers
